Spark Realm is proud to announce the long-awaited release of:
Spark Racing League!
http://srl.spark-realm.net
What:
Spark Racing League is an every-man-for-himself league in which players do their utmost to get their ship from the starting spawns to the finish lines in the shortest amount of time possible! The races take place on specially-crafted raceways, designed from the ground up into Spark maps. The skill factor that accompanies most leagues does not affect Spark Racing League; players of all skill levels can play (and be competitive) in this league! Whether or not you are victorious against your competitors depends on the dexterity of your fingers, the speed of your mind, how quick you are able to take the curves, and whether or not you can avoid the deadly traps throughout the raceways!
When:
Spark Racing League Staff hold races from time to time. Catch us in our lobby on Spark (#srl) to request when we'll be having races, and we'll also post announcements in the lobby or on the forums!
Who:
Anyone can race! SRLis all about getting players to experience the fun that can be had by racing in Spark! It doesn't matter what skill level you are at in terms of normal league or pub play, because there is no flag-capturing, switch-flipping, assassinating, or any conventional objectives involved!* Just you, your opponents, speed, curves, traps, and the battle to achieve victory instead of defeat!
Where:
SRL is played in a mixture of maps both chosen from ARL (Swift, etc.), and created specifically for SRL (CrazyMaze, GoldRush, PrisonBreak, etc.). These maps have been overseen to be of the highest quality possible, and have been tested endlessly for usability purposes, and have been guaranteed 100% awesome by the SRL staff! If you would like to create a map for SRL, please reply to this post directly or PM me!
Join Us:
We are mostly looking for players with prior racing experience to be referees for Spark Racing League. But even if this doesn't describe you, feel free to apply anyway!
For any other information, please PM Reaper_Charlie (me) on these forums, or take a gander at the SRL website (http://SRL.Spark-Realm.net) for updates!
See you on the raceways!
*At the end of a race, players are required to pick up a flag to signify their crossing of the finish line. No competitive flag-capture play is required. Also, since all players are on the same team, shooting is allowed, but does not affect other racers, due to friendly-fire being turned off by default in Spark.
